About Us:
MISSION STATEMENT
Minerva Productions is dedicated to telling female identifying stories, from the divine to the absurd.
We create dynamic and thought provoking original pieces, which span new writing, devised work and verbatim theatre.
We believe in the power of laughter to unite audiences behind the characters we champion.
Our work gives a platform to triumphant female and non-binary voices, studies the female experience within society and puts issues affecting women on-stage.
THE BEGINING
The Minerva Collective was formed in 2016 by Playwright Leigh Douglas, Director Fiona Kingwill, Producer Daisy Hale and Lighting Designer Martha Godfrey. The company was born out of the BA Writing, Directing and Performance at the University of York.
Minerva’s first project was Waking Beauty in 2016. Subsequently, Minerva has worked with Vault Festival, The King's Head Theatre, Ovalhouse, Theatre Upstairs, The Hope Islington and The Bunker. The company has now grown to include Producer, Hannah Elsy and Associate Artists, Gabrielle Sheppard and Amy Warren.
